In your day-to-day life, you are:
- An occupational health doctor. I retired one year ago after 30 years of experience in the agricultural sector. In the course of my professional life, I developed competencies in ergonomics, toxicology, addiction, and in the field of health educyion, for phyisical and psycho-social risks prevention.
Why volunteer for Pesinet?
- Volunteering for Pesinet is for me an opportunity to collaborate to preventative healthcare actions targeting populations whose needs are considerable, to work with a young and dynamic team who brings new methods for prevention in Mali. I also am keen on discovering more about the culture and social organization in Mali through my involvement in Pesinet’s activities.
Your role, your contribution?
- During my last trip to Bamako, in December 2009, I assisted Anne in animating a information session on Pesinet for doctor and weighing agents. I also accompanied weighing agents in their weekly visits to give out my observations regarding their work methods and make recommendations on ways to improve them. I also attended a few medical examinations by the healthcare center’s doctor. I continue to be involved by contributing to setting-up a continuous training program for agents on healthcare education.
